Nashville, TENNESSEE – According to the officials, MNPS students and teachers will no longer have to mask up after spring break.
Officials said that this decision came following a recommendation from Director of Schools Adrienne Battle and despite the pleas of the board’s two non-voting student members.
MNPS director Adrienne Battle recommended dropping the requirement after Friday, March 11, and making masks optional for students following spring break.
The MNPS director also said that the district’s contract tracing system will change.
If there is a COVID-19 exposure, rather than alerting those in close contact, the entire class will be notified.
This is a developing story and it will be updated as new information become available.
