Mother stabbed her 3-month-old son to death because ‘she was upset that the baby’s father said the boy was not his’ and had headaches since the baby’s birth

According to the court documents, the 26-year-old mother was arrested and taken into custody on Sunday. Prosecutors said the mother stabbed her 3-month-old baby to death, put his body in a plastic garbage bag then threw the bag in a dumpster outside of her apartment building. The mom reportedly told investigators that since the child’s birth ‘she had been suffering from headaches and feelings of anxiety.’ She said she was also upset that the child’s father said the child was not his and she was wondering how she would get help.

The 26-year-old mother from Minnesota, Fardoussa Adbillahi, is now charged with one count of second-degree murder for killing her 3-month-old son.

Right after 6 a.m. Sunday, someone called 911 and requested a welfare check on the 3-month-old boy. The 911 called told authorities that the 3-month-old boy had gone missing and the child’s mother had reportedly told him that she had thrown the baby in the dumpster.

The responding officers spoke with several witnesses. The suspect’s mother told the responding officers that the concern stemmed from comments her 26-year-old daughter made regarding the infant.

Officers searched the area and found the boy’s body in the building’s dumpster wrapped in a plastic garbage bag. They also found knives and blankets in the dumpster.

During an interview, the 26-year-old mother told investigators that since the child’s birth she had been suffering from headaches and feelings of anxiety. The mom said she was also upset that the child’s father said the child was not his and she was wondering how she would get help.

The 26-year-old woman reportedly admitted to murdering her baby, police said. The Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the infant’s death a homicide and identified multiple sharp force injuries to the baby’s neck.

Adbillahi is being held on $2 million bond and is currently scheduled to make her next court appearance on Dec. 13. This incident remains under investigation. This is a developing story and it will be updated as new information become available.
