Nashville, TN – Detectives are working to identify a hit-and-run driver who police say intentionally struck a pedestrian while he was walking on a sidewalk in Nashville.
The incident occurred at 95 Wallace Road, where investigators said a small light-colored SUV was traveling westbound when the vehicle went over the curb and onto the sidewalk, striking 34-year-old Jesus Peraida-Gutierrez.
Police said the preliminary investigation indicates the collision appeared to be intentional. Following the crash, the driver left the scene without stopping.
Peraida-Gutierrez was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and are working to identify both the vehicle and the person responsible.
