Nashville, TN – According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, this unfortunate accident occurred right after 11 p.m. late Thursday night.
It happened on Lafayette St. and 4th Avenue S.
Metro Nashville Police Department officers responded to a report of a crash.
The responding officers discovered that the 911 caller was struck by another vehicle from behind.
The woman reportedly got out to help the man who hit her and he asked her not to call 911.
His name is Durwin Rucker and the responding officers found an open container of Mike’s Hard Cranberry in his vehicle.
The man refused sobriety tests and was taken into custody.
Officers discovered that Rucker had four prior convictions for driving under the influence in 2014, 2012, 2011, and 2005.
