Infant found abandoned in frigid temperatures with note from mom asking to find him loving family – “My parents are begging whoever finds me”

An infant was found abandoned in frigid temperatures with a heartbreaking note from his mom. She wanted people to find her son a loving family something that she herself could not give him. “My mom is so sad to do this. Please take me and find me a LOVING FAMILY. My parents are begging whoever finds me.” the message said.

The discovery was made on Friday and Alaska State Troopers reportedly received a report about the abandoned child in the area around 2 p.m., according to reports

“Please help me!!!” began the note written by the mom from the standpoint of the child. “I was born today on December 31, 2021 [at] 6 a.m. I was born 12 weeks premature. My mom was 28 weeks when she had me.” It went on to note that the boy’s “parents and grandparents don’t have food or money to raise me” and that “They NEVER wanted to do this to me.”

“My mom is so sad to do this,” concluded the message. “Please take me and find me a LOVING FAMILY. My parents are begging whoever finds me. My name is Teshawn.”

Per the official’s statement, the infant “was alive and seemed to have been abandoned” near a rural intersection in Alaska. Around the time the baby was located, temperatures dropped to approximately 1 degree and the wind chill factor was below zero.

The note left with the baby indicated that “the parent could not take care of it.” The child was immediately transported to a local hospital, where after preliminary tests, he was said to be in good health. A spokesperson with Foundation Health Partners, Kelly Atlee, also confirmed that the infant was stable and healthy, according to reports.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the state troopers Tim DeSpain noted, “We are continuing to seek assistance from media and the public to determine the circumstances of the child.”

According to reports, Alaska resident Roxy Lane was the one who came across the child with the note. “Today I found an abondaned [sic] newborn in a cardboard [box] at the row of mailboxes by my house,” she wrote in a video post (which has since been deleted) on Facebook.

“I’ve been processing my feelings all day and running through all the different scenarios and reasons, with my bf and family, as to why something like this could have happened.”

The child’s savior went on to suggest that the parents of the infant may not have been aware of Alaska’s Safe Haven Law that allows parents to safely give up their baby at a local hospital, fire station, police station, or church, according to reports.

Lane urged people to come forward with information they may have about the baby’s mother as she suspected she might be in need of medical attention or “might be in a desperate situation, feeling abandoned herself.”

Roxy Lane reportedly wrote:

“Clearly, someone in our community felt so lost and hopeless that they made probably the hardest choice of their lives to leave that innocent life on the side of the road with nothing but some blankets and a name. But she named him! There’s some love there, even if she made a terrible decision.”
