Nashville, TENNESSEE – MNPD officials said the 33-year-old suspect is wanted on a first-degree murder indictment in regard to last June’s death of her infant son.
Police said the victim, later identified as Andrew Dalton, was taken to a hospital on June 16, 2021, after he was found unresponsive and not breathing inside the family’s Lenore Street home.
The 33-year-old mother, Tiffany Young, reportedly told investigators that she fell asleep on her bed with Andrew for about 90 minutes.
A blood sample from Young tested positive for fentanyl, cocaine and amphetamine, Metro Police said.
The medical examiner ruled that Andrew died as the result of mechanical asphyxia, likely caused by an arm or leg being compressed against his abdomen.
The Davidson County Grand Jury returned the first-degree murder indictment against her last month.
