“His shoe print was on the boy’s chest”, 13-year-old beat family friend’s 2-year-old boy to death because he got angry after the toddler threw a toy that struck him

According to the police officials, the 13-year-old boy reportedly beat a family friend’s 2-year-old boy to death in his home. The mother had only left her son alone with the 13-year-old, who cannot be identified due to his age, for a brief time while she went to the teen’s home to pick up food. The teen reportedly got angry after her son threw a toy that struck him. “He just repeatedly hit him. He had to stomp on him. His shoe print was on his chest and part of his stomach.” the mother said.

The 2-year-old boy from Ohio was later identified as Jessie Webber.

On Dec. 8, officers responded to a call about an unresponsive child at a home located in the 1600 block of East 30th Street. The responding officers found the EMS personnel at the home trying to resuscitate the child. The 2-year-old boy was not breathing, they said.

Jessie was taken to a hospital for treatment, where he was pronounced dead. The 2-year-old boy’s mother, Heather Banbury, reportedly said that she had only left her son alone with the 13-year-old, who cannot be identified due to his age, for a brief time while she went to the teen’s home to pick up food.

When she got back, all of the lights had been turned off. The 13-year-old boy told her that it was because her son was sleeping. The mother turned on the lights and found her son unconscious and covered in blood.

The mother reportedly said“He had blood coming out of his nose and his mouth and his eyes were open and he wasn’t conscious.”

She also said that the 13-year-old boy got angry after her son threw a toy that struck him.

“He just repeatedly hit Jessie. He had to stomp on him. His shoe print was on Jessie’s chest and part of his stomach.” the mother said.

The 13-year-old boy had never previously shown any aggression towards her children, Banbury said.

The 13-year-old boy is being held in the County Juvenile Detention Home and he will remain there until he is formally charged with the 2-year-old’s murder.

This incident remains under investigation. This is a developing story and it will be updated as new information become available.
