Nashville, TENNESSEE – Metro Police said the fatal accident occurred right after 10 a.m. Wednesday morning.
It happened at the intersection of Murfreesboro Pike and Pineway Drive.
Metro Nashville Police Department officers responded to a report of a crash.
The responding officers discovered that Toyota Corolla and a Volkswagen Passat crashed at the location.
Metro Police said the 60-year-old driver of the Toyota attempted to turn left on Murfreesboro Pike from the Arlington United Methodist Church parking lot when his vehicle was hit on the driver’s side by the inbound Volkswagen Passat.
The 19-year-old driver of the Volkswagen suffered non-life threatening injuries.
His identity has not yet been released.
The 60-year-old driver of the Toyota, Emmett Hewlett, and his 63-year-old female passenger were pronounced dead.
This incident remains under investigation.
