Lebanon, TENNESSEE – Lebanon Police Department officials said the 20-year-old suspect was arrested and taken into custody on Wednesday.
His name is Laquentin Hearn and he is now charged with criminal homicide.
Police officials said the shooting occurred on Wilson Avenue.
Right after 2 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a shooting call.
The responding officers found one victim.
Police said the victim suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead.
The responding officers were able to identify the suspect’s vehicle.
Officials said the suspect’s vehicle was then spotted near S. Maple St.
When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled, got on to I40 westbound.
Lebanon Police Department officers were assisted by the Wilson County Sheriffs Office, as well as Mt. Juliet PD.
The suspect lost control of the vehicle, flipped and crashed, near the 221 exit of I40 (Hermitage Exit).
The suspect was apprehended after a short foot chase, police said.
