Nashville, TENNESSEE – According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the 20-year-old suspect was arrested and taken into custody on Friday.
His name is Skyler Whitefield-Brewner and he is now charged with aggravated assault of a first responder, evading arrest and 2 probation violations.
Metro Police said the 20-year-old suspect reportedly fled from a Clarksville Police Department detective, struck him with his Jeep.
Authorities were searching for a missing 17-year-old when they saw her get into the suspect’s vehicle.
Whitefield-Brewner was given several commands to turn his car off and exit the vehicle before he backed up at a high rate of speed, hitting the detective with the Jeep.
The detective was knocked to the ground and suffered minor injuries, police said.
The pair was arrested by MNPD East Precinct officers near Hutson Avenue.
The 17-year-old girl was charged with being a runaway juvenile.
