Nashville, TENNESSEE – Metro Police said the 17-year-old suspect was arrested and taken into custody in Friday.
This incident occurred at the Glencliff High School.
Another student reportedly saw the 17-year-old suspect with a gun on Thursday.
When the suspect arrived at school Friday morning, the principal took him to the office to be searched.
The gun (semi-automatic pistol loaded with ten rounds) was reportedly found inside one of the jacket pockets, Metro Police said.
During an interview with investigators, the student reportedly said he was carrying the pistol for protection.
The 17-year-old suspect was taken to Juvenile Court and charged with unlawful gun possession.
