Nashville, TENNESSEE – According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the fatal accident occurred right after 6 p.m. Tuesday evening.
It happened on Old Hickory Boulevard.
MNPD officers responded to a report of a crash.
The responding officers discovered that the 32-year-old motorcyclist was reportedly struck by the driver of a Toyota Corolla.
Metro Police said the 33-year-old driver of the vehicle was turning left onto the I-40 East entrance ramp from the southbound lanes of Old Hickory Boulevard when the collision occurred.
Her name is Kathleen Howe and she told investigators that she did not see the motorcycle prior to making the turn.
The 32-year-old motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced died at the scene.
He was later identified as Randal Stout.
The preliminary contributing factor to this crash is the Toyota’s failure to yield to the motorcycle, however, further investigation is needed to determine whether speed on the part of the motorcyclist may have been a factor.
There was no evidence at the scene of alcohol or drug involvement in this crash.
