Children are a precious gift – all parents know that. As adults, we have the privilege and responsibility to care for them, pray for all children’s protection and safety, and help children around us live the full and abundant life for them. Mothers should protect their children, not cause them harm. Unfortunately, this was not the case with this 31-year-old mother, Anastasia.
The woman reportedly served her son with the worst punishment after she felt betrayed by him for not being an accomplice to her lies. It was reported that the boy, Andrey, told his stepfather about his mother’s alleged lover paying her a visit. When Anastasia found out about this, she had a fight with her son, and cruelly ended his life at the age of 8. The mother, a cashier, allegedly took her son to the courtyard of their house in Russia before taking a canister of fuel and dousing her son in it. As the defenseless young boy cried out in fear, the mother went on to pour the fuel into his mouth and said, let’s see how it will burn, before setting a lighter on, one report said.
Watching the horror unfold from a few feet away was the boy’s 12-year-old sister, Natasha. “(The fuel) was pouring into his mouth, as he was crying,” the young girl said. Unable to watch the horrific sight, the girl ran away as her brother was set on fire by their mother. Soon, Anastasia and her husband put out the fire, and an ambulance arrived to take the seriously burned boy to the hospital. Having suffered 45 percent burns, there wasn’t much that could be done to save him, and the boy passed away in the hospital two days after his mother set him on fire.
In the events leading up to the boy’s tragic death, a neighbor saw Anastasia having an argument with her husband, Pavel. “I saw her at the bus stop. She had a fight with her husband. It seems she took it out on her children,” claimed the neighbor. Currently, Anastasia is in the middle of a criminal investigation in connection with the boy’s death. Per reports, Andrey was previously removed from the mother’s custody. Investigators are trying to find out how the boy was returned back to the mother’s care.
