Nashville, TN -The Metro Nashville Board of Education has approved adjustments to school start and dismissal times for the 2026–27 school year, affecting zoned schools that receive MNPS-provided transportation.
Under the new schedule, high schools will start 20 minutes later at 7:25 a.m. and dismiss at 2:25 p.m. Elementary schools will shift 10 minutes later, with classes beginning at 8:10 a.m. and ending at 3:10 p.m.
Early Learning Centers will also start at 8:10 a.m., dismissing at 2:10 p.m. Middle school start and dismissal times will remain unchanged, starting at 8:55 a.m. and ending at 3:55 p.m.
These changes will not apply to many magnet, academy, and special program schedules, which will continue to follow their current start and end times.
MNPS officials said the adjustments aim to better balance school schedules while maintaining transportation efficiency.
