Nashville, TENNESSEE – According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the fatal crash occurred Thursday night.
It happened on I-65 North.
MNPD officers responded to a report of a crash.
The responding officers discovered that the 32-year-old victim, later identified as Joshua Taylor, was traveling with his family on I-65 when his child threw a favorite toy out of the window.
The 32-year-old man went back to look for the toy.
He reportedly parked his car at the Harding Place ramp and walked along the interstate.
TDOT HELP truck drivers found him and tried to talk with him.
He then ran across the interstate and jumped over the jersey barrier to the northbound side.
Taylor was struck by a GMC Yukon and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The unidentified driver of the GMC Yukon stayed at the scene and did not display any indications of impairment.
This incident remains under investigation.
